They are still playing, and this week they open a US tour. Moenia — the keyboard band that played at every 90s party — kicks off its US Tour 2026 alongside María José this Wednesday, October 21, in San Antonio, and on Thursday the 29th they reach the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, at 8:00 p.m. Eight dates, two worlds on one stage: the synth-pop of "Manto estelar" and the 80s classics in La Josa's voice.

Do you remember Moenia? If you ever danced under a mirror ball while a keyboard line refused to stop, you know exactly what this is about. Here is what happened to them, what María José brings to this tour, and the exact dates, checked today, October 19.

A row of keyboards and not a guitar in sight

Moenia showed up in Mexico in the early 90s with an unusual setup for the time: pop made with synthesizers, no traditional rock band behind it. While everybody wanted to sound like guitars, they lined up the keyboards on stage and let the electronic sequences run. The result had its own name: synth-pop in Spanish.

The breakthrough came with songs like "Manto estelar" and "No puedo estar sin ti," the kind that stayed stuck in your head for a whole week. And it was not a one-summer thing: the band kept recording and touring, has a recent album —Temporal— and its own Estamos Bien Tour, which took them to the Palacio de los Deportes. The keyboards aged better than a lot of guitars. Ask anyone who was there back then: the sound of those years was not a guitar solo — it was a synthesizer line and a whole room singing the chorus back.

The other half of the bill: La Josa

María José started in 1996 in Kabah, the pop group that filled every Saturday TV show. When she went solo, she did something few dare to do: instead of hiding that era, she sang it. Her albums revive the 80s classics — Daniela Romo's, Lucía Méndez's — and her "No soy una señora" became a battle cry the crowd sings word for word.

That is why this bill works. As she put it when the tour was announced: it is not just about bringing songs back, it is about celebrating what people lived through with them. One generation grew up dancing to La Josa's 80s; the next one fell in love to Moenia's 90s. On this tour, the two meet on the same stage.

Theaters, not stadiums

The US Tour 2026, promoted by Live Nation, skips the stadiums: these are indoor theaters, the kind where the last row can still see the musicians' faces. That changes the show. Moenia's synth-pop was always about low lights and a crowd singing along, and in a theater La Josa's voice lands without weird echoes. Eight nights in under two weeks also means each city gets exactly one shot.

The tour: eight nights in the United States

Here are the dates, all checked today on Ticketmaster and Live Nation:

Texas opens and California closes the month. If you have family in San Antonio or Houston, pass them the word today: the first date is this Wednesday and there is no second round.

The hometown date: Inglewood, Thursday the 29th

The YouTube Theater sits at 1011 S. Stadium Dr, in Inglewood, inside the Hollywood Park complex — the same grounds as SoFi Stadium. It is a theater built for live music, with horseshoe seating: it sounds close from almost any seat.

Word to the wise: on event nights, the Hollywood Park area backs up with traffic and parking fills fast. Leave early, and before heading out, double-check your ticket and the door time on Ticketmaster or Live Nation, because those times do move. And mind the calendar: that weekend is Día de Muertos weekend in the city, so you can build a double plan — concert on Thursday, altars on the weekend. One last practical note: October nights in Inglewood cool down fast once the show lets out, so a light jacket in the car is not a bad idea.

More plans around the area? Check the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood guide or the one for Día de Muertos at Grand Park 2026. And pass the word: you surely know someone who still plays "Manto estelar" whenever the old high-school crew gets together.
